What is Cosmetic Dentistry?

Cosmetic Dentistry is basically dental procedures and services with the intended purpose of improving the appearance of the patient’s smile. In so doing, there are procedures that actually involve invasive actions that lead to a better-looking smile and involve improving Oral Health first and foremost but end up giving the patient a better-looking smile as well, these type of procedures are not usually considered Cosmetic. After many years, there are certain procedures that are commonly considered under the umbrella of Cosmetic Dentistry.

After many years, there are certain procedures that are commonly considered under the umbrella of Cosmetic Dentistry. These include Teeth Whitening, Orthodontics, Veneers, Crowns and other related services. These procedures usually focus on the color, the position, the shape, the size, the alignment and overall appearance of the smile. For example, Teeth Whitening focuses on the color or shade of the teeth. Some Teeth Whitening procedures focus on bringing the tooth back to its original shade, while others focus on whitening it even more. This is usually achieved either in- office or with products that the patient will take home and do at home. Most dental insurances allow for two dental cleanings included in the plan a year. If you haven’t had one of these two cleanings already or just one, give Alegria Dental Center in Los Angeles a call today to set up your consultation.

Orthodontics are usually associated with braces and surprisingly enough nowadays many adults are getting braces to straighten teeth and to keep from having other dental issues from developing down the line. If you prefer, Clear Braces are an option nowadays that are better known still, as invisible braces. Straightening teeth has been a hallmark of modern dentistry for some time now, so rest assured that we can get your smile back in line.

Other more involved procedures may involve actually fixing broken or chipped teeth. This of course is also a common procedure that has developed over the years as many of our ancestors broke or chipped a tooth. The solutions can vary and you should come in for a consultation first. We look forward to seeing you at Alegria Dental Center and helping you have the smile you always dreamed of.
